Aloe barberae is found at low elevations in coastal grasslands and low forests on sandy soils from Mozambique to the southeastern Cape Province of South Africa. It is easy and relatively fast growing in cultivation and will do well in many tropical and largely frost free warm temperate climates in USDA Zones 10 and above.
