Pod-Wicks work their magic by nestling their tips just past the knots into the soil. No rigid rules here—some enthusiasts scatter them all over! The key is to think of it as working from the top down, not halfway buried into the soil. The coolest part? These bad boys are easily adjustable without causing a ruckus in your critter colonies. Some aficionados prefer the direct corner approach, while others get creative, placing them a few inches away and angling the legs toward the corner. It’s all about finding your vibe and making it work.
So, let's recap: Pod-Wicks are your top-down moisture managers, giving you the power to tailor your moisture gradient without disturbing the peace in your invertebrate paradise. They're not just a tool; they're a revolution in how we care for our tiny pals.

To install the outside port, we suggest following these instructions :
Items you'll need:
1 1/2" hole saw
3/16 drill bit
Painters tape
Marker
Utility knife
1.Locate where you'll be installing your Pod-Wicks. We suggest they be placed on the moist side of your bin.
2. Determine the placement of where the outside port will be installed. We suggest the port be slightly higher than the Pod-Wicks themselves to prevent any backflow.
4. Using a marker, mark off where the port will be placed, then find your center point.
5. We suggest drilling a pilot hole with a 3/16" drill bit or one just slightly smaller than your holesaw bit. This will stabilize the holesaw when you start to drill. We also suggest covering the area where you'll be installing the port with painters tape to protect the surface in case the drill bit slips or jumps.
6. Drill your hole, making sure to use even pressure, but not so much that it cracks or damages your container.
7. Remove tape and clean up the hole using your utilityknife.
8. Install the two 12" pieces of hose to the nipples on the port. Feed through the front of the hole, then screw on the nut.
WARNING
Do not use the two inside hose nipples to tighten the port. This could cause them to break off. Level the port holes before tightening the nut. It is very important that you only finger tighten, as over tightening can cause damage to the port.
