A wonderful succulent found on cliffs and ridges in the Mexican States of Puebla and Oaxaca, with thick, round, sometimes wavy-edged, bluish-gray leaves with red edges. Very easy to grow in dry tropical climates or as a potted plant. Echeveria gigantea is a succulent plant with an unbranched stem crowned by a large rosette of green to gray-green leaves with a slightly wavy apex and reddish margins. It grows up to 12 inches (30 cm) tall. The leaves are spoon-shaped, up to 10 inches (25 cm) long, and up to 6 inches (15 cm) wide. The older leaves flush purple to pink. Flowers are small pink and appear on erect, up to 6.6 foot (2 m) tall stalks from late fall to early winter.
