Cane Tree Cholla
Cylindropuntia imbricata, thecane cholla(orwalking stick cholla,tree cholla,chainlink cactus, etc.), is a cactus found in the Southwestern United States and northern Mexico, including some cooler regions in comparison to many other cacti. It occurs primarily in the arid regions of the Southwestern United Statesin the states of Oklahoma, Texas,New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Nevada. It is often conspicuous because of its shrubby or even tree-like size, its silhouette, and its long-lasting yellowish fruits.
Easily grown in well-drained soils in full sun. Tolerates afternoon shade. Water in summer and keep dry in winter. Let the soil dry out between waterings. Drought tolerant.
Great for desert gardens, rock gardens, succulent gardens or Mediterranean gardens.
Virtually pest and disease free. Deer resistant.
